Greater Toronto Nanchang University (NCU) Alumni Association held a Summer picnic gathering at 
Toronto's Sunnybrook Park on Sunday August 22. It was a beautiful day with temperature around 
25 degree C and lot of Sun shine. There are more than 60 people participated, including about 
40 alumni, past NCU professors, family and friends. Worthwhile to mention is Deng Zhijun from 
Detroit USA also come from far away to the gathering.  

Members prepared delicious Jiangxi style food for the picnic. Members had relaxing chatting and
thoughtful debate, and hiking around the park. Kids enjoyed playing soccer.  NCU anniversary 
stamp collection and introduction material of NCU (received from NCU Alumni Association) was 
displayed in the party.  Members also donated money for the association and are greatly 
appreciated for their generosity. We also welcomed alumni who just arrived at Toronto recently.  
Many alumni have helped out to prepare this gathering, including Huang Wenxue, Hu Siqing, May 
Yi, and Tian Yunyan.

Another activity was to elect a new executive committee for the regional association. For 2004-2005, 
we have selected Hu Siqing(Biology 84) as President, Liang Jianong (Mechanical Engineering 78) 
as Vice President, Chen Ling(Math 88) as Secretary.  Previously, Huang Wenxue (Math78) for 
2002-2003, and Tian Yunyan (Electrical Engineering 79) for 2003-2004. 

Toronto region have now about 100 registered members, and the number is still growing. Our 
primary goals are to keep alumni connected, exchange information in settling down, living and 
work experience, establish a channel to communicate with NCU, and promote NCU in North America. 
Normally, we have Summer and Winter gatherings once a year. Alumni are encouraged to register
